As we ventured into the Welsh woodland last year, Gottwood proved to be the ultimate festival escape. It had the optimal blend of untarnished natural surroundings and a strikingly diverse, yet still DJ heavy, line-up - unparalleled to other events of its size. As 2017’s edition emerges on the horizon, the full announcement of acts has us feeling all excited again.
Seasoned Gottwood attendees Move D, Roman Flügel, Crazy P Soundsystem, and Bradley Zero return to the charming Carregewlyd Estate, this time joined by Helena Hauff, The Black Madonna, and Disco Halal’s Moscoman. Always one for straying away from ‘the ordinary’, the likes of Matthew Herbert, Frits Wentink, and Red Axes will be keeping things characteristically left-field, with heavier flavours coming from Loefah, 2 Bad Mice, and Manchester’s LEVELZ crew. Also upping the ante in terms of live acts, Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra, Extrawelt, dOP, and Matthew Johnson add spice to the June weekender.
With an unshakable family ethos driving the festival’s hedonism, Gottwood is one of the most intimate of festivals on the circuit. Tickets don't hang around for long either; the remaining few can be found here.
