Four years is a long time to wait and so we did patiently, after various suggested release dates were posted on Ocean's Boys Don't Cry website to teasing effect. Finally issued in August with the unexpected title of Blonde and alongside the release of the audio visual album Endless, it was a welcomed nuance to the musical spectrum.
In-depth, mellow and full of heart Blonde is a celebration of individual realisation and acceptance. Lyrically robust the album is filled with content ranging from the Black Lives Matter movement on Nikes, insecurity and doubt in Seigfried and self-acceptance in Futura Free. Emotive and eloquent, Blonde was one of the year's most highly anticipated and significant releases.
