From the 16th to the 18th July, Farr Festival returns for its sixth year running. ‘Brighter, bolder but not bigger’, it’s a two-days-and-three-nights long boutique fiesta nestled amongst trees and corn fields just outside of London, making that essential festival ingredient of ‘escapism’ easily accessible. Farr prides itself on being an intimate affair. First coming to life as a 600 person party, it has slowly and organically expanded into the greater capacity event it is today without losing touch of its early magic, balancing an ethereal woodland setting with a commanding lineup that flaunts cutting edge electronic music.
Across five different stages is a colourful palette of acts unrivalled by other festivals of its size. It’s a carefully curated blend of the internationally renowned and the underground, as acts such as DJ Koze, Erol Alkan, Ame, Gerd Janson and Midland are woven together with the likes of Hunee, Mr Ties, Romare, Shanti Celeste and Jon Rust to name just a few. Corsica Studios, Just Jack, NTS and Phantasy are also amongst the various brands and labels hosting their own stages. With music going on until 6am both Saturday and Sunday, and bountiful woodland quirks to explore, Farr is a gem within the dense UK festival scene.
