Oasis, Kasabian, Blink 182 and Amy Winehouse are not names you would normally associated with the sleepy Cornish town of St Austel, Yet all these bands have previously made the long journey all the way down to Cornwall. The reason for this, is hidden away in a disused clay pit is a truly unique venue, The Eden Project. In front of the two large 'bio domes' or in more basic terms, large greenhouses sits an amphitheatre which for the summer months hosts a stage for The Eden Sessions.

This year the Eden Sessions host bands such as The Kaiser Chiefs, Sigur Ros, Jessie J and The xx, supported by Chic ft. Nile Rodgers. The south west as a region has few venues past Plymouth which can attract such large names, yet the Eden Projects intimate setting and breath taking back drop offers bands and audiences a refreshing change from functionally designed, impersonal arenas.

ShufSounds are excited to be attending The xx, the mercury award winning London trio. The xx will come to The Eden Project fresh of the back of their headline slot at the Other Stage at Glastonbury and their own miniature festivals called Night+Day, and undoubtably bring this energy to Eden.
