Over the weekend of the 7-10 of November Turin in Italy plays host to Club2Club festival, a weekend of music which encapsulates the cutting edge side of the club scene at the moment offering some of the worlds most well respected dance music heavyweights. Now in it's 13th year, Club2Club has built upon its experience and resources to offer a weekend that has been described by Resident Advisor as the event of the season. Big names playing include Julio Bashmore, Four Tet, Modeselektor and James Holden, all whom bring something slightly different to a weekend of music.
The festival is not just a night-time event and has musical offerings throughout the day as well as a very special concert on Thursday evening of James Holden, playing in the grand Theatre Carignano. The festival is a chance for the rapidly growing Italian club scene to experience these well-known names but also sample less well known, but equally talented artists. One of these being Koreless, an artist who has been making music since 2008, Club2Club gives him a chance to perform to a knowledgeable, enthusiastic Italian crowd. Fuck Buttons will also be one not to miss, although they have been making music for a while the recent success they have experienced, will be great to see on the live stage. Other names not to be missed across the weekend include US producer Machinedrum, Rustie who has just produced some of Danny Browns 'Old' and also Norweigian Todd Terje with his own blend of ‘Nu-Disco’.
In summary the festival is a great opportunity for music fans to see an array of artists across a weekend with a well thought out line up and carefully selected venues. It’s Turin base makes it easily accessible from Milan and Southern Europe and it is sure to offer a fantastic weekend in the middle of November when festivals worth going to are pretty thin on the ground.
